Studio Storage
Welcome to my online sales site.
A fresh new year always inspires to some spring clean-up rituals and my studio does not escape that fate. I made a critical round through my storage and decided to list some new 'old' paintings. Not because I don't like them anymore ( I do!) but because it's time for them to find a good new home and to free up some space in my storage rack.
Paintings will be shipped in the most economical way, the cost will be added to the sales price. If you live in the Milwaukee area you may always email me for an appointment to come and see a painting in person.
I do accept creditcard payments.
I will be posting 2 or 3 new pictures at a time. They will be removed when sold.
To see my recent work, please visit my website or my other blog.
Thank you for visiting!

SPRING PAINTING ON SALE!
Spring in Whitnall Park, oil/linen, 2002, 36x28"
With one of the Field Crossings sold soon after it was posted it's time to post another painting that needs to make room for new ones. Going with the season, this is a luscious green spring painting, inspired by our many walks in the park almost bordering our house. Besides a beautiful botanical garden this park also has some natural area's where native plants reign. In spring it's always full of wild phlox in all tints from white through pale pink to purple and it's at this time this painting was conceived.
At that time I was just venturing out into a more abstract and loser way of painting. In this landscape you see lots of translucent layers in a very loose brush stroke. It has always been one of my favorites, but well, you don't raise kids to hang around forever either....it's time this one is on it's way to a new home.
The price for this painting was $1800 but it can be yours now for $700!
It will be shipped unframed but has all the hardware for hanging. This one is gallery wrapped, meaning no staples are visible on the sides, however, as I always paint on a colored ground the sides of the painting are 'mars orange' a color that also shows through in the bottom of the work.

Field Crossings, winter
The winter one of this series has only a small vignette. The inspiration came from a trip in the midst of a cold and snowy winter, where all I could see was the road ahead with bluish mountains on the sides and the landscape sliding in white tones on the sides.
Because I always paint on a ground glazed in mars orange the white has a pink feel to it.
Size: 16x20"
Medium: oil on linen
year: 2002
Price: $500 (from (950)
Unframed This canvas is gallery wrapped, meaning that no staples show on the sides, and can be shown uframed
I do accept credit card payments and will always ship at the lowest available price.

Field Crossings, late summer
Field crossings is a series of three oil paintings from 2002/2003.
I have long worked with a vignette shape in my paintings, a painting within the painting. In this series I have used that shape in three very different ways. This one is inspired by a field in late summer when the dry grasses turn to the palest yellows, the leafs of some plants are getting rust red and brown and the vines of the wild black berries all of a sudden show an iridescent blue/purple. The rust colored vignette is painted losely here, echoing the overgrown wildness of the lushly grown plants, in it we still see marks of all the vines but on top just the one blue/purple stripe represents the vines.
Size: 16x20"
Medium: oil on linen
Year: 2003
Price: $500 (from $950)
Unframed
I do accept credit card payments and will ship at the lowest available price.

Urban Sunset
Another small square painting, this one abstract, titled: 'Urban Sunset'
As you can see in my new work on my website, verticals, circles or ovals have had a long time attraction on me. I'm still working with these shapes but it started already before this painting.
Size: 16x16"
Medium: oil on linen
Year: 2005
Price: $250 (from $450) unframed
I will ship in the most economical way and I do accept credit card payment
Afternoon Tea
This one is a small square painting, titled 'Afternoon Tea'
As my first love in painting happened to be the still life, I return on a regular bases to this subject, be it in a more and more abstracted way over the last decade or so. It's warm soft colors bring me back to afternoons as a child when my mother would be waiting for me to come home from school with a pot of tea and a biscuit (yes, only one, this was Holland)
