Studio Storage
Welcome to my online sales site.
A fresh new year always inspires to some spring clean-up rituals and my studio does not escape that fate. I made a critical round through my storage and decided to list some new 'old' paintings. Not because I don't like them anymore ( I do!) but because it's time for them to find a good new home and to free up some space in my storage rack.
Paintings will be shipped in the most economical way, the cost will be added to the sales price. If you live in the Milwaukee area you may always email me for an appointment to come and see a painting in person.
I do accept creditcard payments.
I will be posting 2 or 3 new pictures at a time. They will be removed when sold.
To see my recent work, please visit my website or my other blog.
Thank you for visiting!

The Dutch and their windmills
Quite something different from my last post which has a fall mood, this is a late summer atmosphere painting inspired by a trip to the Algarve in Portugal in the beginning of October some ten years ago. And maybe it's because I'm Dutch and grew up with the familiar sight of windmills but this one caught my attention. Like the Dutch, the Portuguese and Spanish have a lot of windmills too, but they're quite different from the mostly very sturdy buildings the Dutch build as windmills.
The Spanish and Portuguese windmills are much smaller, plain cylindrical and usually white, like this old one that was obviously not being used anymore.
What I liked was the graphic sign made by the one leftover 'wing' (?) that shows up from behind the building. The sky was one of those intense blue late summer/early fall skies when the temperatures are still very warm but the color of the sky tells you that summer is almost gone. The earth over there is often a warm pink/red color, which is reflected in the white of the building.
This is a square painting, 50x50cm or 20x20", oil on Belgian linen, framed in a wooden floater frame.
Price: $250
